The 'Jewels' of 'The Coromandel' are listed below. We recommend a minimum of 2 - 5 days, giving you time to relax and enjoy this beautiful coastline and all our facilities.
* Hot water Beach so named because of the hot springs that surface on the sand two hours either side of low tide. Spades to dig your 'own' hot pool are provided. Beach towels also provided.
* Cathedral Cove world famous for its natural beauty. From the car park, its approximately 40 min's walk. Swim, snorkel or simply enjoy the beautiful white sand and don't forget your camera!
* Hahei Beach one of the prettiest beaches in the world. Rob's great grandfather was the first settler in 1867. The old historic homestead he built and the Moreton Bay fig tree he planted from seed bought in Australia can be seen on the corner of Hahei beach Rd and Grange Rd on the road to Cathedral Cove. * Te Whanganui-A-hei Marine Reserve (Bay of Hei) Named after a Maori chief, it was established 14 years ago . Follow the snorkel trail in Gemstone bay and enjoy its natural beauty.
* Mercury Bay Seafaris will pick up you up from Ferry Landing wharf if you prefer to see these icons from the glass bottom boat.
* Cathedral Cove Sea Kayaking is another option for those who prefer kayaking in the open waters of the marine reserve.
* 'The Windborne' is a 62 ft schooner built in 1928. Help sail her or simply relax and enjoy the experience. An amazing full day trip, proving very popular with young and old alike. * Bush walks Suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Maramaratotara bush walk starts a few metres from the lodge.
* There are 5 white sandy beaches, safe for swimming all within walking distance of the lodge.
* Bay Carving provides a unique opportunity to create your own souvenir in just a few hours. So much more special when you choose your design and create your own special souvenir.
* Historic Mercury Bay Museum is right next door to Bay Carving and provides an interesting insight into Mercury Bays historic European and Maori past.
* Golf 9 holes of at Purangi or 18 holes in Whitianga or Matarangi.
* Driving Creek Railway This is something you must find time to experience and we thoroughly recommend you make the time to visit this amazing place. * Waiau Water Works Where whimsical wonders are worked by water. Great place for the young and young at heart. Can be incorporated into a full day trip with Driving Creek Railway.
